While originally opening in 1922 as a feed store, Martin’s Pet & Garden Center became a pet store in the early 1950’s. During the winter months there was not much to do with lawn and garden, which is why Martin’s Pet & Garden Center began picking up pet supplies and eventually becoming a full line pet store. Jon Weaver and Gary Miller purchased the business in January, 1995, after working many years at Martins. Jon started in the mid 1960’s, during his high school years sweeping floors and stocking shelves. Gary joined Martins in 1980.
When asked what he likes best about Coastal, Jon answered “The quality of the products”. “The collars hold up well, very seldom does Coastal product get returned.” Jon also likes that Coastal is doing a good job at keeping up with the latest trends.
