Q. Why can't I tie my dog out on a plastic Tuff buckle?

A. We do not recommend our Tuff buckle collars or harnesses for tie outs. The pull strength that a dog can exert when it has a "running start" is very high. Our Tuff buckle is made of a durable plastic; however, it does not have ample strength for tie out.

Q. Which is best to use on a tie out a collar or harness?

A. A collar. We manufacture some excellent collars for tie out. Our Spectra collar is an adjustable collar with a metal buckle and the No Slip collar works great for dogs who tend to back out of their collars. No Slip collars have a limited closure which prevents it from becoming too tight on the dog's neck.

Q. How do I measure my dog for a muzzle?

A. Measure around the dog's nose. We have various breeds listed on our packaging which will also assist you.

Q. How do I measure my dog for a harness or collar?

A. Refer to Reference Chart.

Collar = Measure neck, by placing two fingers between dog & measuring tape.

Harness = Measure girth behind front legs, and add 2 inches.

Q. My dog has chewed up two collars, what can I do to prevent this?

A. We suggest you check with your local pet store for a chew deterring spray such as Bitter Apple or Lime. Please follow instructions on container.

Q. Which is stronger, twisted link or welded link chain tie outs?

A. Welded link.

Q. How can I prevent my dog from slipping out of his collar?

A. We realize some dogs have similar head and neck diameter, which makes it very easy for them to slip a collar. Our No Slip collar has a limited closure which offers added control while walking or tieing out your pet. It also eliminates the possibility of your pet "backing out" of its collar. Another great feature is it will not matt the dog's fur.

Q. I came home from work and my dog chewed his way out of his muzzle. I had it adjusted correctly, will you replace it?

A. Yes, however, we strongly advise that you do not keep your dog muzzled all day or night. Your dog can not eat or vomit while muzzled. Therefore, muzzling a dog for such an extended period could actually kill the dog. Long-term muzzling can also make it more aggressive. This could make him chew more out of spite.
